Welcoming the University of Colorado Hospice & Palliative Medicine Fellows!

The Denver Hospice is excited to welcome the University of Colorado Anschutz Hospice & Palliative Medicine Fellowship Class of 2027 as they begin their clinical rotations with our team.

Over the coming weeks, five fellows will participate in an immersive eight-week experience designed to provide hands-on training in hospice and palliative medicine. Each fellow will spend four weeks caring for patients in The Denver Hospice's Inpatient Care Center, followed by four weeks working alongside our community-based teams to support patients and families wherever they call home.

These clinical experiences offer fellows the opportunity to develop their skills in symptom management, communication, interdisciplinary collaboration, and compassionate end-of-life care while learning from experienced physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, bereavement counselors, and other members of our care teams.

We are proud to welcome this year's fellows:

  • Austin Adair, MD – Pediatrics
  • Rebecca Epling, MD – Family Medicine
  • Anna Leigh McVicar, MD – Pediatric Neurology
  • Thomas Mee, MD – Internal Medicine
  • Jason Worley, MD – Internal Medicine

Training future hospice and palliative medicine physicians is an important part of our mission. By investing in education, we're helping ensure that more patients and families will have access to compassionate, expert care for years to come.

We are honored to partner with the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in preparing these exceptional physicians for careers in hospice and palliative medicine and look forward to the impact they will make during their time with The Denver Hospice.

Welcome to the team! We are so glad you're here.
